Lew-Port Varsity Cheerleaders to compete in Florida

Members of the Lewiston-Porter High School Varsity Cheerleaders will be heading for Florida next weekend to compete in the Attending Cheerleaders of America Sunshine Open National Classic, Sunday, Jan. 21 at the Silver Spur Arena in Kissimmee, just outside of Orlando. Coach Amy Townsend reports the girls, who will depart from the Buffalo-Niagara International Airport on Jan. 18, have spent the past months in numerous fund-raising endeavors in order to have the opportunity to attend the prestigious national competition, which will feature squads from throughout the U.S. Shown in the photo are varsity cheerleaders Stephanie Brown, Kayla Lepper, Heather Wilkesmore, Margaret Duffy, Shannon Wilkesmore, Kaitlyn Fyfe, Michelle Harvey, Samantha Maj, Nicole DiRamio, Ella Haseley, Courtney Brydges, Liz Rawleigh, Gabby Paonessa, Carly Knight, Brittany Nichols, April Vandenbosch and Kelley Neumann. The Sentinel extends its congratulations to the girls and wishes them well in next weekend’s competition.
