United Way exceeds fund-raising goal Niagara Wheatfield Tribune, December 14, 2006 Robert J. Kazeangin, 2006 campaign chair for United Way of Niagara, announced on Nov. 16 that $916;050 was raised during the campaign from Aug. 16 to Nov. 16. This represents 103.3 percent of the $887,000 goal the United Way set out to raise this year. Kazeangin stated, “Our Greater Niagara Community faces many challenges, but this community came through in a big way at the end of the campaign. They embrace the United Way mission and through their generous donations brought hope, joy and opportunity to those in need.” “I would like to extend a heartfelt word of thanks to our entire community,” Kazeangin added. “With their help, we will be able to help seniors confront periods of loneliness, and isolation, support those that face the challenge of a physical or mental disability and provide a safe place for a child to grow and learn in an after-school program. It is through this multitude of generosity that the United Way continues to activate community resources to make the greatest possible human impact.” Contributions raised in the 2006 campaign will provide financial support to over 50 programs and service administered by the 17 member agencies. |
