Applications available for Zonta award Lewiston Porter Sentinel, December 9, 2006 Applications for the 2007 Young Women in Public Affairs Award are now available from the Zonta Club of Niagara Falls by contacting and leaving a message for P.A. Redanz at 297-5146. The goal of the Young Women in Public Affairs program is to encourage more young women to participate in public and political life by recognizing a young woman’s commitment to the volunteer sector, evidence of volunteer leadership achievements and a dedication to the advancement of the status of women. Applicants are asked to reflect on their lives, their commitment to the communities in which they live and the role models who have inspired them to become involved in their community or in a specific prospective career. The Zonta International Young Women in Public Affairs program looks to the young women of today for the leaders of tomorrow. Applications are due to: Y.W.P.A., Zonta Club of Niagara Falls, New York Inc., M.P.O. Box 41, Niagara Falls, NY 14302-0041, by January 31, 2007. Applicants must be pre-university or pre-college students (age 16-20) and living in the Niagara Falls area: Niagara Falls, Wheatfield, Sanborn, Ransomville, Lewiston or Youngstown. All applications must be typed (or downloaded from the Zonta International Web site and completed on the computer). The Zonta Club of Niagara Falls, New York, Inc. meets the second Wednesday of each month. Passage House Fresh Start program of the Family and Children’s Service of Niagara is one of the recipients of the Zonta Club’s service funds. Zonta International, with world headquarters in Chicago, is a global service organization of executives and professionals working together to advance the status of women worldwide through service and advocacy. |
