Lewiston Service Guild assists Opportunities Unlimited

Lewiston Porter Sentinel, December 30, 2006

The Lewiston Service Guild made a recent donation to Opportunities Unlimited of Niagara that provided a holiday meal for seven individuals with developmental disabilities and their families. These holiday baskets were presented to the participants of the Family Support Program at its monthly meeting. The Family Support Program trains parents with a developmental disability in various aspects of parenting with an emphasis on health, safety and community awareness. Opportunities Unlimited of Niagara assists in the collaboration of services with schools, the department of social services and other community-based providers. “One of the goals of the Lewiston Service Guild is to support people in our community,” said Patricia Minarcin, member of Lewiston Service Guild and immediate past chairperson, Opportunities Unlimited of Niagara Foundation. “Our members are delighted to bring holiday joy to these families.” Shown in the photo are, back row (left to right) Debbie Wolf; Linda Falls; Robin Moore; Minarcin; Karen Kaple; and Rickey Moore.
