Village accepts new people mover Lewiston Porter Sentinel, December 16, 2006
In yet another example of shared services between local governments, the town of Lewiston recently transferred ownership of its older Lewiston Senior Center van to the Village of Lewiston, which intends to use the vehicle as a people mover during the many festivals and events in the community. “We saw where this van could still do some good, so I talked with Fred Newlin and we got this under way,” said Lewiston Councilman Mike Johnson, who is shown at left with Village Trustee Terry Collesano in front of the van at the Village DPW garage where it is being refurbished. “This is really going to help us out,” remarked Collesano as to its projected use over coming months.
