NU’s Stranges given Prestigious Lynch Award Lewiston Porter Sentinel, December 16, 2006 The Rev. Joseph L. Levesque, C.M., president of Niagara University, recently presented the Rev. John J. Lynch, C.M., Award to Dr. John B. Stranges for his outstanding contributions to the university. Stranges is the author of “The Rainbow Never Fades – Niagara University 1856-2006,” a history written for the university’s sesquicentennial. Established in 2000, the Lynch Award is presented periodically to individuals, corporations or foundations that have provided significant support to Niagara. Stranges’ book, a comprehensive and intimate look at the university, offers the unique perspective of one who has observed the life of the university as a student, history professor and administrator over the last half century. Copies of the book are available at the NU Campus Store. Stranges, a former academic vice president who holds the rank of university professor, resides in Niagara Falls, Ont., with his wife, Albertine. |
