Erie County Council,
Ladies Auxiliary, VFW

The Erie County Council of the Ladies Auxiliary to the Veterans of Foreign Wars is announcing the success of its project to benefit veterans and their families – and is asking the community to continue its support of the effort during these demanding times.

In 2005, more than $218,000 in cash was distributed to veterans and their families through the Veterans Assistance Local Ongoing Recognition. V.A.L.O.R. board member Paul Rudnicki accepted more than $800 in cash and food donations contributed by the 22 VFW Ladies Auxiliaries in Erie County.

Aid can be given to families without delays of weeks for applications and paperwork. The Vietnam Veterans Association Chapter 77 in Tonawanda handles food distribution from their pantry.

If you are a veteran or a veterans family in need, or if you would like to support veteran relief, cash donations may be made to: V.A.L.O.R., 2733 Seneca St., West Seneca, NY 14224. Food donations may be made to: Vietnam Veterans Association Chapter 77, 57 Main St., Tonawanda, NY 14150.

For more information about either of these programs, call 825-1515.
