Hospital opens women’s health series

Dr. Renee Baughman, OB/GYN of Gynecology Associates of Western New York, conducted the first in an 11-part programming series on “Women’s Health Issues” at Mount St. Mary’s Hospital and Health Center on Nov. 10.

Dr. Baughman’s program focused on “HPV and Cervical Cancer.”

Coordinated through a cooperative effort involving the hospital’s departments of education, maternity and cardiology, the series will continue through June 2007 with at least one program per month.

Other programs that will follow are:

•Dec. 5: “Women Aging Gracefully,” presented by Claudia Kurtzworth, CASAC;

•Jan. 17: “Nutrition for Women’s Health,” presented by Adele Berti, CDE;

•Jan. 25: “Women’s Health Tests,” presented by Dr. Serena Bax-DiBiaso and Dr. A.J. Bax;

•Feb. 22: “Women & Heart Disease,” presented by Dr. Zina Hajduczok, cardiologist;

•March 14: “Stress and the Active Female,” presented by Linda Bensen;

•March 28: “The Sandwich Generation,” presented by Linda Bensen;

•April 24: “Pre-Conception: Before Baby,” presented by Dr. Judy Wesolowski, OB/GYN;

•May 10: “Menopause,” (Part 1) presented by Carol Greene, BSN, FCP; and

•May 22: “Menopause,” (Part 2) presented by Dr. Donna Feldman, OB/GYN

•June TBA: “Skin Care: Look Younger,” presented by Dr. Robert Perry and Linda Baldi-Perry

All programs are free, open to the public, and conducted at 6:30 p.m. in Room 249 on the second floor of the main hospital building.
