Wildey, Foe win 4-H scholarships Niagara Wheatfield Tribune, November 2, 2006 Sara Wildey and Gabrielle Foe from Starpoint Central School have received 4-H scholarships. The awards were announced by the Cornell University Cooperative Extension of Niagara County. Wildey is the daughter of Don and Melissa Ziemendorf of Sanborn. She is very active in the beef, swine and goat animal science areas, earning the Premier Breeder Award in the beef program and Grand Champion Showman in the swine program. During her 10 years as a Sanborn Stallions 4-H Cub member, she participated in many community service projects. “In many people’s lives, 4-H helps to sculpt you to be the best person that you can be,” Wildey said. “That is exactly what 4-H did for me,” she said. She received the 4-H Sponsors Committee Scholarship in memory of Marjorie Walker. Wildey plans to major in physical education and mathematics. Foe is a seven-year member, excelling in the 4-H dog, goat and horticulture programs. She won awards with her animals at the New York State Fair and was selected as the Red Jacket Masonic Lodge Citizen of the Year. She was the winner of the Master Showmanship contest, representing the meat goat division at the Niagara County Fair. Foe is the daughter of Matthew and Deborah Foe of Sanborn. She plans to continue her education at Niagara University with a degree in Hotel Planning and Control. “I enjoy doing volunteer work with people,” Foe said. “Four-H has truly helped me shape my personality and develop my leadership skills.” She received the 4-H sponsors Committee Scholarship in memory of Winifred Fischer. The scholarship awards are presented through the Niagara County 4-H Sponsors Committee, chaired by Normal Sinclair; the 4-H Animal Science Committee, chaired by John Sweeney Jr.; the 4-H Foods and Nutrition Committee, chaired by Lisa Smith; the Equine Committee, chaired by Cheryl Bish; and the Bryan J.
