New sign at Lewiston-Porter Lewiston Porter Sentinel, November 4, 2006
Students, teachers and visitors to the Lewiston-Porter School District campus on Creek Road got their first glimpse of a new digital electronic message board, which was delivered and installed this past week in front of Lewiston-Porter High School. A years-long effort of the Lew-Port High School Partners in Education, the $47,000 privately funded sign, while currently still awaiting a power hook-up from National Grid, will soon feature four-color messaging and video and graphics imaging of various district happenings. It was a true community effort; kids, businesses, community a true team effort, commented Jane Ziobrowski, president of the Lew-Port Partners, as to the monies raised to fund the electronic message board project. No taxpayer dollars went toward this, Ziobrowski said, adding that the High School Partners is dedicating the entire project to the students of the Lewiston-Porter School District. Look for a formal ribbon-cutting announcement, in an upcoming Sentinel. (photos by Ric Berg)
