Lew-Port JV girls impress at NFL swim championship Lewiston Porter Sentinel, November 4, 2006 Lewiston-Porter’s girls junior varsity swim team had an impressive showing in the Niagara Frontier League Junior Varsity Championships, held Monday at Niagara Falls High School. Overall the Lew-Port swimmers finished fourth in the 11-event meet. The 200-meter medley relay of Audrey Krause, Shannon McDonald, Morgan Swift and Lauren Sauvageau placed first and broke the school’s JV record. The same four swimmers also won the 200m freestyle relay and broke JV records in both that event as well as the 400m freestyle relay. Lauren Sauvageau placed first in the 50m freestyle; Morgan Swift placed first in the 100m freestyle; and Audrey Krause placed first in the 100m backstroke. Heat winners included Janeanne LePage in the 200m intermediate medley, Maggy Duffy in the 50m freestyle, and Stephanie Kowalski in the 100m backstroke. LePage, Duffy, Lisa Magliarditi, Rosana Gambino, Sarah Shields and Anna Hargrave were all on winning relays in heats. Submitted by Coach Joe Lauzonis |
