St. Peters pays tribute to Father Baker

Lewiston Porter Sentinel, October 7, 2006

Recently, the students of St. Peter School in Lewiston visited Our Lady of Victory Basilica in Lackawanna. The school has adopted Father Nelson Baker as its saint for the school year. Mark Mambretti, school principal, chooses a saint every year, and students explore his or her life. Last year it was St. Francis of Assisi. Mambetti felt Father Baker would be a good candidate, as he was local and his contributions have occurred in Western New York. The children have been studying and reading about Father Baker each day. They have incorporated his life and accomplishments into their everyday curriculum.
