Sabres alumni basketball game is Oct. 19

Lewiston Porter Sentinel, October 7, 2006

A Buffalo Sabres alumni basketball game is the featured event of a special family night on Thursday, Oct. 19, at the Lewiston-Porter High School gym.

The event is a fund-raiser in which all profits will go toward the LED message sign for the Lew-Port schools.

At the event, the High School Partners in Education will sponsor a Chinese auction. The parent group is looking for parents and businesses to donate baskets or various items that could be used to build baskets.

All donations for the auction should be received before Tuesday, Oct. 17, so the children can prepare them for the event. The main office at the high school will receive the donations during school hours of 8:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. Suggested items for the baskets are: coffee or tea, holiday items, gift wrap, food, movie tickets and rentals, lotions, jewelry, music, sports items, children’s activity items, school supplies, books and gift certificates to stores, restaurants and other businesses. Of course, since this is a school function, organizers gratefully decline baskets with alcoholic beverages.

For more information, call the high school main office or Jane Ziobrowski of the High School Partners in Education at 754-4198.
