Stella teacher receives MAC Grant Lewiston Porter Sentinel, October 14, 2006
Stella Niagara Education Park eighth-grade teacher Susan Sinski was recently named a winner of this year’s McDonald’s MAC Grant. During the awards ceremony at one of the McDonalds restaurants in Cheektowaga, grants that totaled $10,000 were awarded to Sinski and several other area educators. Sinski was awarded $250, which will be used during next year’s Niagara County Science Fair to provide meaningful, hands-on activities that will enhance the learning process for participants. A committee of educators, business professionals and McDonald’s representatives found her submission to be among “the cream of the crop,” as they sorted through hundreds of applications for the annual grants program. MAC Grants can help educators “Make Activities Count” for students. This program, sponsored by local McDonald’s restaurants, provides up to $250 to enhance the learning process for students in third through eighth grades. |
