‘Take A Seat’ campaign continues at Stella

Niagara Wheatfield Tribune, September 14, 2006

Since 1928, Stella Niagara Education Park’s theater has been used for graduation ceremonies, plays, special events, fund-raisers and by outside groups such as Theatre in the Mist. In February, Stella Niagara launched its “Take A Seat” campaign to help fund future scholarships and improve the school’s theater.

For more than 70 years, the school’s theater has also been the home to dreams, drama and applause. Stella Niagara enjoys the benefits of blending the fine arts into the regular academic schedule. “We believe that academic excellence is obtained by developing the child’s academic learning, but also his or her self-awareness, self-esteem and expression,” said Stella Principal Sister Margaret Sullivan.

Take A Seat allows students, parents and friends of Stella Niagara to purchase an individual seat or row that will bear their name(s) or the name(s) of their choice. Plaques bearing these names are placed on the seat and/or row to acknowledge their sponsorship and to provide a “living” tribute to their support and dedication to Stella Niagara.

The response to this campaign has been heart-felt, as the school sold almost 100 seats within the first three months. For more information, contact the school at 754-4314.
