Benefit set for family of George Backlund

Friends of the late George Backlund are sponsoring a fund-raiser for his family from 1-5 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 15, at the Charles N. DeGlopper Memorial VFW Post 9249, 2121 Grand Island Blvd.

The afternoon will feature music, prizes, raffles and a Chinese auction. Food donations and baskets for the raffles are welcome. For more information, contact either Sue or Steve at 773-6343.
