Wienee Palooza a success Grand Island Dispatch, September 15, 2006 The second annual Wienee Palooza took place at Don Hoover’s house on Aug. 27. The honored guests were Norman and Jeanette Courey. The event is held in memory of their son Peter Courey, who passed away July 25, 2005. A candle burned throughout the day and evening next to an 8-by-10 portrait of Peter. Attendees feasted on hot dog chili, stewed hot dogs, cheese macaroni and hot dogs, hot dogs and sauerkraut, hot dogs wrapped with crescent rolls and more. Everyone also participated in a toast to their friend and son, Peter Courey. Nancy Anderson had everyone bring some canned goods to donate to the Neighbor’s Foundation, and a raffle raised $120 to be split between the Neighbor’s Foundation and Hope for Jason. |
