‘River Run’ returns July 29 Niagara Wheatfield
Tribune, June 22, 2006 Mount St. Mary’s Hospital and Health Center will host the fourth annual “River Run” on Saturday, July 29, at 9 a.m. in Lewiston. Registration for the USATF-sanctioned 5K run/2-mile walk will take place from 7 to 8:45 a.m. at the Red Brick School, 145 N. Fourth St., Lewiston. A registration fee will be charged. Runners and walkers registering before race day will receive discounts on their registration fees. Starting at the Joseph Davis State Park, the course will lead runners along Lower River Road to the Red Brick School. The 2-mile run will start at Pletcher Road and also end at the REd Brick School. A post-race party will begin at 10 a.m., followed by the awards ceremony at 10:30 a.m. Proceeds from the race will support the purchase of new equipment for the Mount St. Mary’s Outpatient Rehabilitation Center in the Town of Niagara. Dr. James Wopperer of the Center for Orthopedics on Military Road in the Town of Niagara will serve as the event’s honorary chairman. Andrew Schultz, rehabilitation supervisor at Mount St. Mary’s, is the race coordinator. For more information, call 298-2249. |
