The Summit adds new leadership

Niagara Wheatfield Tribune, June 22, 2006

The Summit recently added John Sabino as general manager to its team.

Sabino joined the Wheatfield mall after managing two regional malls for Simon Property Group for the last six years in the Youngstown, Ohio, area.

“He is excited about moving to Niagara County and taking The Summit to new heights,” said Jim Anthony, owner of The Summit. “We have a long way to go, but we believe John is the right guy to take us there”.

The current interim general manager, Ron Anderluh, will redirect his focus on finalizing renovation projects.

“Ron has been instrumental in recreating the brilliant new atmosphere of The Summit,” Anthony said.

Anderluh will oversee the completion of the exterior entrances as well as the inline storefronts. Over the past two years, he has been responsible for more than $5 million of redevelopment projects for the mall and day-to-day operations.

In addition to the personal additions and reassignments, The Summit has launched its Web site, www.summitniagara.com.

Anthony said the Web site is one of the most content-rich mall sites in the world. Besides providing information on events as well as community and business insights, the site encourages the opening of new businesses.

“It will soon be translated into several languages, with Mandarin Chinese being the most important, to solicit international commerce,” he said, adding that visitors to the Web site can sign up for an e-mail newsletter and mall updates.

Finally, Anthony reports that an exciting and innovative new tour company, Spirit of Niagara Tours, has been established to present “the Niagara region to the world as it has never before been seen.”
