Brannen named to Energy Commission

Niagara Wheatfield Tribune, June 22, 2006

Kelly Brannen, managing director of Niacet Corporation in Niagara Falls, has been named to the New York State Energy Commission. Created by Gov. George Pataki, the commission is charged with reviewing the state’s various energy programs.

“I am grateful to Senate Majority Leader Joe Bruno for giving me this opportunity to name an appointment to this important commission,” said state Sen. George Maziarz, R-62nd District, who announced Brannen’s appointment on June 20. “The Western New York manufacturing community deserves a seat at the table and Kelly Brannen will ably represent our area’s interests as the Commission undertakes the critical task of assessing the various energy programs in New York State.”

In addition to running his family-owned company, Brannen also co-chairs the Power for Economic Prosperity, which is comprised of Western New York manufacturing companies that receive low-cost hydropower from the Niagara Power Project in Lewiston. He is also a past chairman and a current member of the board of directors of the Niagara USA Chamber of Commerce.
