Ashley M. Giuliani of Ransomville and Alyssa Marie Ziobrowski of Lewiston received $1,500 scholarships from the New York Conference of Italian-American Legislators. Winners were selected based on their grade point average, dedication to organized sports, interest in pursuing higher education, involvement in the local community and individual financial need.

Giuliani is a senior at Lewiston-Porter High School. She plans to attend Niagara University and major in elementary education.

Ziobrowski will be entering her sophomore year at St. John Fisher College this fall. She is majoring in accounting and business management.

The students were invited to a conference in Albany hosted by the New York Conference of Italian-American State Legislators. The scholarships were presented on June 11.

“I am so proud that two of the four winner of the Italian-American scholarships were from Niagara County,” said Assemblywoman Francine DelMonte, D-Lewiston.
