Town of Lewiston announces summer activity schedule Lewiston Porter Sentinel, June 24, 2006 The Town of Lewiston Department of Parks and Recreation has announced that its summer schedule will run from Monday, June 26, through Friday, Aug. 11. Parks programs vary in the activities for certain ages, including toddler programs and supervised games and arts and crafts for children, ages 6-13. These activities will take place at all five parks on weekdays except Wednesday. All events require registration before a child attends, and most events are free unless otherwise stated. On Wednesdays, children can attend field trips that usually require an entrance free, including the Buffalo Zoo, the Fort Niagara pool, Darien Lake, plus bowling, skating and picnic activities. Youth sports instruction in basketball and tennis are free to children, ages 5-16. Special events are also scheduled throughout the summer. The free NCCC Superstars fitness program, an inexpensive scrap booking course, and a free touch-tank experience from the Aquarium of Niagara are among the many scheduled listings of community events aimed at children. For more information, check out the full Lewiston summer activities brochure in today’s Sentinel, or call 754-8213. |
