GIHS students receive Zarbo Memorial Scholarships

Mary Kate Duff, Carissa Bailey, Sarah Jane Calvaneso and Matthew Brady were awarded Zachary R. Zarbo Spotlighter Memorial Scholarships and received $500 toward college tuition.

Sydney Seese was awarded the Zachary R. Zarbo Choral Studies Memorial Scholarship and received $500 toward her tuition at the New York State Summer School of the Arts School of Choral Studies. The program runs at Fredonia State College, and participants study choral and music theory with students from all over the state. They perform several concerts throughout the summer.

Zarbo was involved in drama and choral studies at GIHS. Recipients of the awards had to write an essay, show community and faith involvement and be members of the drama club.
