Young entrepreneurs attend KidBiz training session

KidBiz sidewalk sale to be held July 1

Grand Island Dispatch, June 16, 2006

Mike Heftka is pictured with more than 40 young entrepreneurs who attended a recent KidBiz training session. Topics such as pricing, marketing and customer service are covered at the training event.

The 10th annual KidBiz Sidewalk Sale will be held Saturday, July 1, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., along the sidewalks at Town Hall as part of the many activities planned for the Grand Island Chamber of Commerce “Island Happenings.”

KidBiz was developed by the Small Business Development Center and designed to give children in the third through sixth grade the experience and excitement of running their own business. More than 100 booths are expected at this year’s event, in which kids will sell books, toys, crafts, baked goods and a whole lot more.

KidBiz is sponsored by Technology Camp of America and Fuccillo Auto Park. It is an excellent opportunity for children to engage in a real-life business experience.

For more information about KidBiz, contact Sue Hillock at 773-6723 or call the Chamber office at 773-3651.
