Holy Ghost students lose hair over pennies

Niagara Wheatfield Tribune, May 4, 2006

Three pupils at Holy Ghost Lutheran School in Bergholz recently challenged the entire student body to raise funds for Holy Ghost Lutheran Church. For amounts ranging from $200 to $300 in loose change collected, the three students – Joshua McManus, Joshua Kaczor and Eric Larson – volunteered to shave off their hair. Eventually, the three lost their hair after the challenge brought in $480 in pennies, nickels, dimes and quarters. The money was given to the Holy Ghost congregation during National Lutheran Schools Week. Shown in the above photo (left to right) are Holy Ghost teachers/barbers Adria Tafel and Margaret Gildersleeve, McManus and Kevin Gundell.
