Lancers football team to help Katrina victims at McFootball Night Lewiston Porter Sentinel, May 6, 2006 Members and supporters of the Lewiston-Porter Lancers Football team will man the counter and work in the lobby at the McDonald’s restaurant, 8420 Niagara Falls Blvd., Niagara Falls, on Tuesday, May 9, from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m. as part of McFootball Night. The event will kick off the team’s “Athletes to Athletes” community service project. During McFootball Night, Lancer players, coaches and supporters will collect lightly used sporting equipment, including spikes, to contribute to athletes affected by Hurricane Kathrina. Portions of the sales from that evening will cover the costs for shipping the collected goods to Mississippi and Louisiana. Individuals wishing to donate can drop off any lightly used equipment at the McDonalds restaurant during McFootball night. |
