Castellani hosts varied exhibits

“Rabbits,” by Satoshi Yabaachi, takes center stage in “Niagara Collects: Highlights from Private Collections in Niagara County,” on view at the Castellani Art Museum through Oct. 6.

The Castellani Art Museum on the Niagara University campus hosts “Niagara Collects: Highlights from Private Collections in Niagara County” through Oct. 6. Also on display is “Wolf Kahn: About the Falls” through Sept. 10, and “New to You: Unseen Works from the Permanent Collection” through October. Gallery hours are 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., Tuesday through Saturday, and Sunday from 1 to 5 p.m.

Castellani Art Museum at the Falls, 101 Old Falls St., in the Niagara Falls Conference Center, hosts “Patterson and Improvisation: Local African-American Quilts,” though Aug. 25. Ranging in style from boldly geometric strip quilts to carefully appliquéd designs, these quilts represent the best work of quilters from “The Sweet Seniors” who meet at the Niagara Falls Housing authority, and the quilting class at St. Phillips Church in Buffalo.
