Augustyniak tabbed NU Student Employee of the Year

Niagara Wheatfield Tribune, March 9, 2006
Lewiston Porter Sentinel, March 11, 2006

Michelle Augustyniak, a student worker in the Niagara University Office of Admissions, has been named the college’s 2006 student employee of the year. Augustyniak, a senior accounting major from Niagara Falls, has worked in admissions as a tour guide, admissions assistant and supervisor of tele-counseling for the last four years.

Augustyniak was cited in her nominations as the ideal student employee as demonstrated by her dedication, reliability, maturity, positive attitude, professionalism, delightful sense of humor and her desire always to do her best.

As a tour guide, Augustyniak has the responsibility of representing NU to potential incoming freshman and their parents. To these visitors, the tour guide is often representative of their initial impression of Niagara. She has also assisted one of the assistant directors in recruiting potential students, attends the accepted student receptions across the state, works at various admissions events on Saturdays and evenings, coordinates the job schedules for fellow student workers and supervises the front office for Saturday appointments.

Augustyniak is a senior class officer, serving as treasurer. She is also a member of the accounting society and several other honor societies. She is the co-chair of the campus programming board and a front-row member of the N-Zone.

Augustyniak resides in Niagara Falls with her mother, Vivian, and father, Joseph. She has an older brother, E.J., known in tennis circles as Edgewear, who is in the Air Force, stationed in Hawaii.
