Stella Niagara recognizes science fair winners

Winners of the Stella Niagara 2006 Science Fair include (left to right) (front row) Victor Sarmiento, Lara Curtis, Jessica Miller, Kate Mieth and Allyson Martino; (center row) Colin Forsyth, Jay Kling, Alec Curtis, Elizabeth Merritt and Thomas Gadelrab; (back row) Jordyn Holka, Anthony Cheff, Thomas Fiorica, Nicholas Ieraci and Georgia Buscaglia.

Stella Niagara Education Park recently recognized the winners of its 2006 Science Fair.

Winners included:

•Grade 6: (1) Kate Mieth; (2) Victor Sarmiento; (3) Jessica Miller; honorable mention: Lara Curtis.

•Grade 7: (1) Alec Curtis; (2) Jordyn Holka; (3) Anthony Cheff; honorable mention: Thomas Fiorica, Sabrina Macho, Jay Kling and Colin Forsyth.

•Grade 8: (1) Elizabeth Merritt; (2) Thomas Gadelrab; (3) Georgia Buscaglia; honorable mention: Nicholas Ieraci and Allyson Martino.

Open to students in grades 6 through 8, the in-school fair provided all participants with an early opportunity to hone their science skills and enhance their educational experience.

All winning students will compete in the Niagara County Science Fair, which will take place on Saturday, April 1, at Stella Niagara.
