Falcon Aquatics set club records at Shamrock meet

The Falcon Aquatics Swim Club finished in first place for small teams and sixth place overall in the 2006 Shamrock Swim Meet, held March 4-5 at Cheektowaga Central High School.

In the Girls, Division, ages 11-12, Marissa Oakey took third place in both 100-yard backstroke and the 100-yard individual medley with times of 1:14.99 and 1:14.60, respectively. She also finished fifth in the 100-yard freestyle event in 1:05.92. These times, as well as her times in the 50-yard breaststroke (40.32), the 100-yard breaststroke (1:26.42), and 100-yard butterfly (1:23.11), set new club records.

Anna Schultz took fifth overall in both 50-yard and 100-yard backstroke events. Kristiana Ferguson placed 10th in the 50-yard freestyle.

In the Girls Division, ages 13-14, Kristen Forcucci finished fifth overall in the 200-yard freestyle race. She also set new club records over 100-yard backstroke (1:15.23) and 200-yard backstroke (2:44.23).

In the Girls Division, Sarah Green finished first overall and set club records in both 100-yard backstroke (1:10.37) and 200-yard backstroke (2:30.64). She also placed third overall in both the 100-yard freestyle and 200-yard individual medley. Stephanie Hale finished ninth in the 100-yard breaststroke competition. Sarah Rivers finished sixth overall in the 200-yard breaststroke race, setting a club record in a time of 2:57.64.

The 400-yard medley relay team of Green, Hale, Rivers and Forcucci finished second in a time of 2:14.45. The 200-yard freestyle relay team of Hale, Forcucci, Rivers and Courtney Martinic took second place in 2:01.14.

The girls, ages 11-12, 200-yard medley relay team of Oakey, Ferguson, Schultz and Krista Dean finished fourth in 2:33.38. The 200-yard freestyle relay team of Schultz, Ferguson, Oakey and Christine Reil finished third in a time of 2:01.10.

Mitchell Ross came in fourth overall in the boys, ages 9-10, 50-yard butterfly race. He also took fifth place overall in the 100 yard Individual Medley Relay.

Luke Martinic finished fourth overall and set a club record in the boys, ages 11-12, 50-yard butterfly in a time of 38.37. Zac Toth placed third overall and set a club record in the boys, ages 13-14, 200-yard backstroke in 2:34.07. He also finished fifth overall in the 50-yard freestyle event.

Marc Toth took third overall in the boys 200-yard backstroke and fourth overall in both 100-yard breaststroke and 100-yard freestyle. The boys 200-yard freestyle relay team of Zac Toth, Matt Schutt, Luke Martinic and Marc Toth finished second overall in a time of 1:59.80.

The Falcon Aquatics Swim Club is open to all swimmers. New memberships are accepted throughout the year.
