Nancy Price Fun Run set for April 1

Lewiston Porter Sentinel, March 25, 2006

The 13th annual Nancy Price Power Run will take place on Saturday, April 1, in Youngstown.

The event is open to runners, walkers and skaters of all ages.

The race will begin at 9:45 a.m. for walkers and skaters and at 10 a.m. for runners.

Registration for the race will be held from 8:15 to 9:30 a.m. at the Youngstown Fire Hall, located at the intersection of 625 3rd St. and Nancy Price Drive.

Participants registering prior to race day are eligible for a $3 discount off their registration fees. Registered runners, walkers and skaters will receive a commemorative long-sleeve T-shirt.

A post-race party will immediately follow the run.

Sponsored by the New York Power Authority and Adelphia, the race is held in honor of longtime Youngstown Recreation Director Nancy Price who passed away in 1994 after a long, spirited battle with cancer.

All proceeds of the event will go toward the Nancy Price Memorial Scholarships that are awarded each year to Youngstown students who have participated in the recreation program, excelled in their academic programs and volunteered in the community.

To obtain registration forms or for more information, contact the Youngstown Recreation Department at 745-3603.
