Lewiston Republicans offer scholarship

The Lewiston Republican Committee announces it will be awarding a $500 scholarship to a high school senior residing in the Town of Lewiston. This scholarship program has existed for the past 10 years.

Town Republican Chairman Edward DeVantier said, “The scholarship was instituted to promote an interest in our young adults in government and in our political process. The committee believes that creating this interest, and providing some financial support, could lead an individual to pursue a career in community leadership.”

Political affiliation of candidates will not be a selection criterion. Applicants must be a high school senior residing in the Town of Lewiston, however they need not attend a high school in Lewiston. The scholarship winner will be announced at the annual Lewiston Republican Awards dinner in late April.

Interested students should contact their guidance office. Applications will be accepted until March 31.
