Historic Lewiston photo hunt

Lewiston Porter Sentinel, March 18, 2006

The Historical Association of Lewiston is asking local residents to look in their photo albums to see if they have any old photographs of Lewiston.

The public is asked to bring their old photographs to this month’s program on Tuesday, March 28, at 7 p.m., at the Water Street Landing Restaurant (the old Riverside Inn) on Water Street in Lewiston. Photos can be Lewiston landmarks, buildings, homes and families.

Diane Finkbeiner, volunteer president of the association, said, “This is great way for the community to come together to see what historical photographs of Lewiston we’ve missed. Many times, people have old photographs of family and friends that remain hidden and unappreciated. This gives us a chance to see what’s out there and we’re asking everyone to participate in our photo hunt to see what treasures turn up.”

The program is free, and coffee and cookies will be served.
