NU presents acclaimed Colombian storyteller Jaime Riascos Lewiston Porter Sentinel, March 11, 2006 Jaime Riascos, an internationally recognized author, who is acclaimed as the most important storyteller from Colombia, will present a free program for the community on Tuesday, March 28, at 6 p.m., in the Castellani Art Museum on the Niagara University campus. The event is sponsored by the university's Office of Academic Affairs and the campus club Bienvenidos. The storytelling presentation, titled “Why Love is Blind,” will be in English and will include a variety of traditional stories, myths and indigenous tales from Latin America. Riascos has performed in France, Spain, Mexico, Cuba, Venezuela and the U.S. He currently resides in San Francisco, working as a researcher and promoter of Spanish storytelling. He is the founder of the Colombian Storytelling Movement, and has received a number of international awards.
