Foreign Language Week Grand Island Dispatch, March 17, 2006
Last week, students of Mrs. Rumsey-Malaney, Mrs. Grande, Mrs. Weidner and Miss Trabert at Veronica Connor Middle School celebrated National Foreign Language Week. The lunch menu was written in Spanish and French all week. Students had a chance to participate in a daily trivia contest and a mystery voice contest, with phrases in Spanish and French. Myra Botwin and Sarah Meyers read a poem they wrote for Foreign Language Week. Candies and hats were sold during lunches, with students designing a “graffiti wall” in both languages. The winners in the foreign language poster contest are: Kaitie Samland, first place; Vincent Spada, second place; and Alex Howard, third place. The school finished off the week with a costume and hat day. |
