B.I.H.G. begins winter season

On the heels of a very successful fall season, the Buffalo In-line Hockey Group started its winter season on Jan. 14.

The Blue Falcons began the quest to defend of their fall championship crown with an 11-4 victory over the Hurricanes. David Campuzano of Grand Island led the Falcons with four goals and three assists.

In what was probably the game of the day, the Whitehawks defeated the Black Knights 7-5. Vinnie Amoia and Scott Scolino both netted hat tricks.

The Grey Ghosts handled the Green Machine 5-2 with Roy Wasiewicz scoring four goals for the Ghosts.

Preseason conjecture had the Red Raiders tabbed as an offensive power, and the team did not disappoint as they beat the Vikings 13-3. Pat Smith and Player of the Week Josh Grant each scored six goals.

B.I.H.G. is perhaps the premier youth in-line hockey league in Erie County. The league plays every Saturday morning at the EPIC Center on Wehrle Drive in Amherst. New players are always welcome.
