Lewiston Porter Sentinel, December 3, 2005

The following incidents occurred the period of Nov. 21-27, as reported by the Lewiston Police Department. A total of 88 calls were answered by the department during this period.

Monday, Nov. 21

•One vehicle property-damage-only accident on the 700 block of Pletcher Road. Patrol took a statement from a 20-year-old male regarding a vehicle that had struck a residence. Report filed.

•Suspicious vehicle complaint on South Water Street. Patrol reported locating a van in the area that had been selling floor/carpet-cleaning products. When requested, the driver furnished the required permit. All else reported secure. Report filed.

•Domestic incident at a residence on the 800 block of Oriole Lane. Patrol took statements from a 23-year-old female and a 32-year-old female who reportedly were having words over the need for their own space. Situation resolved at this time. Report to be filed.

•Harassment complaint on the Niagara University campus. Patrol took a statement from a 37-year-old female who reported her juvenile daughter was harassed earlier at the Dwyer Ice Arena on campus. Patrol’s investigation to continue; report filed.

Tuesday, Nov. 22

•Dispute on the 1500 block of Balmer Road. Patrol reported assisting Niagara County Sheriff’s deputies with two individuals who were fighting over a deer. Situation resolved; all otherwise reported secure. Report filed.

•Stolen property recovered on the 600 block of Pletcher Road. Patrol reported the recovery of an unidentified stolen vehicle from the front of a residence. License plate information obtained and vehicle towed. Niagara County Sheriff’s deputies to advise the owner. Report filed.

•Car-deer accident on Ransomville Road; address location not specifed. Patrol reports issuing a deer tag to a 46-year-oldf female listed as the driver. No tow required. Report filed.

•9-11 hang-up call at a residence on the 100 block of Tuscarora Street. Patrol reported all secure; report filed.

Wednesday, Nov. 23

•Vehicle/traffic stop on Center Street; address location not specified. Patrol reports citing a 38-year-old male for third-degree unauthorized vehicle operation. Uniform traffic ticket issued. Valid licensed driver on location. Report filed.

•Officer requested regarding a possible larceny incident that allegedly occurred earlier at a supermarket on the 900 block of Center Street. Patrol took a statement from a 57-year-old female at a residence on the 100 block of South Seventh Street. Investigation to continue; report filed.

•Alarm response at a residence on the 500 block of Briarwood Lane. Patrol reported all secure; no key holder on location. Report filed.

•Harassment complaint at a residence on the 1000 block of Elliott Drive. Patrol took a statement from a 50-year-old male. Investigation to continue; report filed.

Thursday, Nov. 24

•Fire alarm response at Lewiston Porter High School on the 4600 block of Creek Road. Patrol reported said call as a false alarm; all otherwise secure. Lewiston #1 Volunteer Fire Co. on location. Report filed.

•Patrol reported assisting Niagara County Sheriff’s deputies with a missing resident from a nursing home facility on the 3500 block of Ransomville Road. Patrol reported the unidentified individual was located and transported to Mount St. Mary’s Hospital and Health Care Center for an evaluation. Report filed.

•Alarm response at a business on the 800 block of Center Street. Patrol attributed the call to a malfunctioning alarm at the business due to heavy winds. All otherwise reported secure at the location. Report filed.

•9-11 hang-up call at a residence on the 400 block of Morgan Drive. No problems found by patrol. Report filed.

Friday, Nov. 25

•Fraud complaint received at the Lewiston Police Department. Patrol reports taking a statement from a 50-year-old male regarding an incident that occurred earlier at his Oxbow Lane residence. Patrol’s investigation to continue; report filed.

•Missing funds complaint at a gas/convenience store on the 800 block of Center Street. Patrol took a statement from a 40-year-old female who reported two separate sums of money as missing from the business over a two-day period. Patrol’s investigation to continue. Report filed.

•Patrol requested to check on a situation at a residence on the 200 block of South First Street. Officers reported the unidentified homeowner had heard a loud explosion on the outside of the residence. Area checked by patrol with negative results. Report filed.

•Damage to a vehicle complaint at a residence on the 300 block of North Fifth Street. Patrol spoke with a 52-year-old male who reported finding a smashed window on a truck parked at the residence. No report wished at this time.

Saturday, Nov. 26

•Harassment complaint at a residence on the 5000 block of Bridgeman Road. Patrol spoke with a 23-year-old female regarding a 23 year-old male. Patrol reported the male party had left the residence and was located later at an address on the 2100 block of Mount Hope Road. Male subject arrested by patrol on said complaint charge. Appearance ticket issued for Lewiston Town Court date. Report filed.

•Aggravated harassment complaint at a residence on the 800 block Oriole Lane. Situation resolved at this time by patrol. Report filed.

•Loud party complaint at a residence on the 5000 block of Tindal Lane. Patrol reports assisting the Town of Niagara Police on said call. Officers reported individuals leaving the scene upon their arrival. All subjects apprehended. No information provided on any arrests from the incident. Town of Niagara Police to complete the report.

•Animal problem at a residence on the 800 block of Oriole Lane. Patrol spoke with an unidentified resident concerned about the welfare of a loud barking dog. Animal appeared OK; patrol to contact the town dog control officer. Report filed.

Sunday, Nov. 27

•Family dispute at a residence on the 400 block of Dutton Drive. Patrol spoke with a 43-year-old male who reported problems with his juvenile son, who was upset over not be able to visit friends out of town that he had met online. Situation resolved at this time by family members. Report filed.

•Fight complaint at a residence on the 5700 block of West Street. Patrol reported all parties had left prior to their arrival. Niagara County Sheriff’s deputies pursuing a warrant; details not provided in the report.

•Domestic dispute at a residence on the 900 block of Balmer Road. Patrol reports assisting the Niagara County Sheriff’s deputies on said call. Officers reported a male subject had left the area. Patrol cleared the report.

•Patrol reports assisting the New York State Police with traffic problems on the I-190 northbound due to a back up from the Lewiston-Queenston Bridge. Report filed.
