Santa visits the Lewiston Library

Lewiston Porter Sentinel, December 17, 2005

With Christmas edging ever closer, the Lewiston Public Library held a special gathering for the little ones last weekend. Activities included crafts, face painting, snacks, story time, a special visit from Santa and more. Above, Alicia Pucci and Maggi Carroll enjoy making a Christmas wreath out of peppermint candies. Below, at left Maria Salada enjoys visiting with the big man in red. And below at right,, a nicely decorated mitten tree adorns the children’s room. The mitten tree holds both handmade and purchase hats and gloves that will be donated to the needy. Library officials report that donations for the mitten tree can be dropped off right up until Christmas. For details, contact the Library at 754-4720. (photos by Melanie Wirth)
