Santa
Claus in Town
Grand Island Dispatch,
December 9, 2005
The
Grand Island Fire Company provided the transportation again this year
as Santa Claus came to town. The fire truck made a pass around the
block to deliver Santa to the Town Hall, where activities, hot chocolate,
and coffee warmed the gang of folks. St. Stephens Choir provided the music
both outside and inside. Grand Island Historical Society members assisted
town representatives with the refreshments. Mikayla Claus was happy to
sit on Santa’s lap and tell him her Christmas wishes. Prior to the activities
inside, a memorial tree was planted for Mary Lou Lunsford, a former school
bus driver. Her fellow drivers, both current and retired, provided the
tree. (photos by Barbi Lare)
