The Grand Crafts on the
Island, the 2005 version, enjoyed very warm, sunny
days along the Town Commons. Craft show organizers
Robin Swedish and Kathy Smith rallied a group of volunteer
helpers to set up the event. The perimeter of the
park was booth upon booth, as was the inner circle.
There were numerous crafts and several booths offering
foods to delight the palate. Music was provided by
an excellent crew of musicians, Jerry D’Amico and
Brimstone, who played all the “good”music. Face-painting
was popular with the kids. Iced bottled water was
in demand, as were frozen candy bars offered by the
Zonta Club (along with their basket raffle). Girl
Scouts had several additional items in the food line.
St. Martin’s-in-the-Fields Church offered baked goods,
The Grand Island Rotary Club had hot dogs and the
Town Recreation Department featured a coloring book
collection originally designed by two young boys.
