Island prepares for welcome of Santa Claus,
tree lighting

The Grand Island Recreation Department will be welcoming Santa on Saturday, Dec. 4.

Groups, clubs and organizations interested in volunteering to help decorate the Town Common and gazebo for the welcome of Santa Claus are to assemble at the Town Hall at 9:30 a.m.

All are welcome to participate in decorating the gazebo and trimming the tree. Festivities for the youngsters and the official lighting of the tree will take place between 4 and 6 p.m. Activities include a visit with Santa, games, fun and refreshments.
