Walk-a-Thon set for Meaghan's Miracle

Grand Island Dispatch, May 21, 2004

Metro-Chubb Real Estate on Grand Island is sponsoring a five-kilometer walk along West River Service Road to assist Grand Island resident Meaghan Grotz who has cystic fibrosis.

She faces a double-lung transplant. The costs of the operation and medications can total as much as $250,000.

The walk-a-thon, open to those of all ages, will be Saturday, June 19 with registration beginning at 9 a.m. in the old Dunlop parking lot off Long Road, west of the Niagara Thruway. The walk will begin at 10 a.m.

Walkers may solicit sponsors to cover their $10 entry fee. Donations in excess of the fee will be appreciated.
