Placing an Ad

Price: $9.50/week for 15 words or less + $.50 for each additional word.

  • Place ads early to guarantee placement in all four papers (see deadlines).
  • As a general rule, ads should be placed 2 weeks before your sale to ensure maximum coverage. Ads that are placed in time will actually run TWICE in the Lewiston Porter Sentinel on Saturday. Place your ad early to get the most bang for your buck! For a weekend sale, an ad must be placed by Wednesday of the week BEFORE your sale (a week and a half early) in order to ensure that your ad will run in as many issues as possible.
  • PLEASE NOTE: Ads placed past deadline will not run in all of the papers.
  • Be sure to include address (with town), date & time; list crossroads or other directions to help customers.
  • Consider putting a box around your garage sale ad to make it stand out. There is an added charge of $4.00 per week to box your ad.
  • You may want to consider adding a message in your ad regarding bargain hunters who show up before the advertised starting time of your sale. Adding either the phrase "Early birds welcome" or "No early birds, please" will give shoppers a guideline to follow.
